Laura was amazing. She came over at a most vulnerable time just a few days after birth and helped us tremendously.
Due to several circumstances out of my control, I have had a low milk supply since my son's birth. I would not have made it breastfeeding one month if it wasn't for Rachel. I was able to breastfeed my son for three months, and thanks to Rachel giving me the tools and tips I needed, I have been able to quadruple my supply and continue to pump to feed my son. He is now 6 months old and receiving half milk and half formula. This is an accomplishment I am so proud of and I am grateful to have had the support I needed to get here.
Thank you so much Jennifer for taking the time to help me on such short notice. You went above and beyond the call of duty. You not only allowed me to breastfeed my little one, but you also saved Charlie from having a life time of speech and dental problems by discovering the tongue and lip tie. I will always recommend you to other mothers! Also, your response to emails and random lactation questions were a life saver. As a health care provider myself, I thought your clinic was very professional and provided outstanding care. The environment was very comfortable and welcoming, but what I appreciated about the entire encounter was your calm demeanor. You never made me feel inadequate about having breastfeeding issues and did not make me feel guilty about having to use bottles or formula. You are extremely practical and your first focus was the child. I knew that Charlie was being looked after and I knew you would be honest with me if breastfeeding was not an option. Your care for the child above all else was what made me truly fall in love with your clinic!! I hope that you continue your work. You are a true blessing to mothers like me. I appreciate everything that you have done. - Mommy Jessica
Home Lactation Consult Testimonial
Having breastfed my first one without much complication, I thought I was going to have the same fortune with my second one. When things started to prove otherwise, I was hopeful to be helped by the lactation consultants at the hospital. I had a c-section and thought that 4 days in the hospital being surrounded by lactation consultants was going to do the trick. I was wrong. This time was going to be more complicated and I left the hospital without a clue about breastfeeding, with very sore nipples and on the verge of a mastitis infection. Thank goodness I had no issues in the production department, but getting my baby to get her milk out was the issue here! I breastfed my first child and knew that it shouldn’t be that painful. The day we came home from the hospital I could not take the pain anymore and started pumping. That night, a Sunday night, my husband did some research and we decided to contact Jennifer. She got back to us within a couple of hours and the next day, Monday, she was at my house at 10 AM. Right from the moment she came into my bedroom I felt hopeful! She was not fooling around. She meant business. She was so well equipped, set up the weighting station in my bathroom, set up her working station next to my bed and started talking! She examined my breast and diagnosed the beginning of mastitis and gave me gel compresses for my very sore and cracked nipples. The way she explained what was going on with them and the solutions she gave us showed her level of expertise and again made me feel confident and grateful for having her there. Then she went on to examine my baby girl, who was only 5 days old. By the time Jennifer started handling her I already trusted her 100%. I was so sure this woman was going to help us. She said my daughter had tongue-tie and that a frenotomy was recommended. First time in my life that I had heard of this procedure, it sounded kind of barbarian, yet, there I was considering it only because this woman I just met was suggesting it. But this is how confident and informed Jennifer seemed. Everything she said, she typed it. She answered the one thousand questions my husband asked. I am positive he asked one thousand questions. He was googling everything she said right there with us, and was kind of quizzing her. She excelled on my husband’s quiz! Jennifer's first visit was very hopeful. But it was just the beginning of a long journey. We did have my daughter had the frenotomy by Doctor Harley in Georgetown university. We also met Doctor Stephane, a pediatrician chiropractor to whom we all go now on a regular basis. He also contributed to my breastfeeding relationship with my baby girl. And he was also a recommendation from Jennifer. Throughout this long journey I felt Jennifer was with us at every single step we took. Sometimes I felt as if I was her only client, given her promptness to my never ending last minute emails and text messages. She answered every single one of them. Our correspondence included, among many, a tearful, emotional video I sent her the first time my baby latched on. :) My baby is almost 5 months old now. And I am back to work! And, although I am supplementing with formula since I went back to the office due to low supply (due to illness...another long story) I’m working on getting back my production and catch up on the supply. But still I am so grateful I was able to exclusively breastfeed her for four months. I am glad my husband did the research and contacted Jennifer, and I’m glad she came into our lives :) I have, and will continue to recommend your services to every single pregnant lady I meet! - Mommy Paola & Baby Luna
